Tyler Perry best movie (by joemoe116) |
I just home from seeing I Can Do Bad All By Myself. Let me starting by saying. If you don't like Tyler Perry movies or plays, or TV shows you more then likely wont like this one either. I am going to ask you to go see it anyway you might come out of the movie theaters different then you came in. Now if are a Perry fan like I am you love this movie Madea catches 3 kids trying to rob her house, then she takes them to stay with their aunt April played by Taraji P Hensen, Taraji proves she can carry a movie. if it were up to me she would go back to the Academy awards this time she would win. <more> |
Easily one of Tyler's best movies (by duarut) |
Unlike most of Tyler's fans, I have not enjoyed most of the plays that I have seen on video. On the other hand, I am a big fan of his movies because in my opinion, they have been produced on a much higher and professional level. All of the acting was superb, but Hope gave an Oscar winning performance as Jennifer. In this movie, parts that were meant to be funny, were really funny and parts that were meant to be serious, were really serious and truly reflected the Black experience. I had gotten my money's worth after Gladys Knight had sung her first song. Being a music lover and a <more> |
Go See (by keya-brisco) |
This movie is a definite "go see." From time to time Tyler Perry's director and writing skills can be sketchy. The story line does not always flow on some of his movies. But this is not one of those. The acting, writing and directing was on point. Tyler definitely got several messages through this movie. Whether it was about the aunt's selfishness and stunted capability to love and express that love. Or about child molestation and how we can sometimes turn a blind eye toward it. Message about loving without requiring ulterior motives. And about faith in God. Some people may <more> |
Very nice movie....must watch (by chiefogv) |
This movie was really good and i would advise anyone to go watch it....the fact that in the movie it had moments where you will feel very emotional and the next moment you are laughing made it very interesting to me. i will go and watch it again!!.......this is one of the best movies he has made....it is a movie you can learn from though it is still a typical Tyler Perry movie.....always educational and yet maintaining the funny moments....once again i love this movie ....as a matter of fact all the folks that sat beside me both left and right had to shed tears in some emotional parts of the <more> |
Beautiful nuanced performances (by d-kinne) |
The person who called this drivel never saw the film, guaranteed. The actors in this film are stunning, and the story is touching and real. Oscar nominated Taraji P. Henson not only carries the dramatic arc of the main character's transformation, she also kicks butt in her singing performance as self-centered club singer April. Mary J. Blige and Gladys Knight and Marvin Winans all deliver the goods in their acting and then blow the roof off with their singing performances. And Hope Olaide Wilson's performance as 16 year old toughie Jennifer is simply remarkable. You can't quite <more> |
My Film review: I can do bad all by myself (by mk-baby7) |
I can do bad all by myself is a film directed by Tyler Perry starring Taraji P. Henson, Adam Rodriguez a CSI Miami character , Pastor Marvin Winans , Mary J. Blige R&B Singer and Tyler Perry himself as Madea and Joe. This film was nominated three times and won one Oscar. The story is about Madea who catches a sixteen year old girl with her two brothers on stealing. She decides to handle the situation on her own way and leave the children to their only relative, their aunt April Taraji P. Henson . Something to be learned (by msfinanceus) |
I just saw this movie today and I have to tell you that I loved it. The storyline, while similar to other productions of Mr. Perry has a completely different perspective. This movie is about faith, love, family and friendship with all the associated struggles. The opening scene grabbed my attention and the story held it through the whole movie. I laughed, cried, I got angry the characters really pulled me into their life experiences and I was entertained.Madea and Joe were funny as usual. The character played by Taraji Henson I alternatively wanted to hate and comfort. The children were <more> |
Very Entertaining (by gsmith220) |
I really enjoyed this movie. I went to be entertained and don't mind seeing the same plot line again and again. There were no car crashes, no blood and guts, just a clear story line that I could follow. The characters grew during the course of the movie. There was a clear beginning, middle and ending. Even though I could figure out the end, I was curious how Tyler Perry was to portray it. It was fun and pleasant. Had me dancing in my seat. The cast was great, the music was great, the emotions ranged from laughter to tears. Tyler Perry is able to combine great entertainers in a single <more> |
Saw the movie and it was good... (by ninjacatprincess) |
I saw the movie and thought it was good - and not great. Tyler Perry knows his audience and yes, he writes about the same issues because these issues have yet to be resolved in society: failure to pay child support, the molestation of children, physicial abuse, drug use and poverty.I like Tyler Perry and I will continue to see his movies and pay full price due to the facts above. He is not afraid to "put it all out there". So many writers are interested in success - they will give you nothing for a formulaic movie: lots of sex, violence, drug use, crazy car chases and music. I saw <more> |
