Really good movie, really appreciated the horror and thought the actors did a good job
Very good (by nicboujunk)
Why the low critics? I loved these short films. I disagree with the ones who say only 2 of the shorts were good. I liked them equally.
Definitely worth a watch (by nancy666)
What is everyone complaining about? It seems impossible to please a horror fan these days.Holidays is a decent anthology horror comprised of eight shorts each with a different holiday theme; Valentine's Day, St Patricks Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, Christmas and New Year's Eve. My favorites are Easter, Mothers Day, Halloween and Christmas. They're interesting, different and each one doesn't last too long, what's not to like? If you like anthology movies you'll definitely like Holidays. If you haven't watched it all I can say is GIVE IT <more>
'So bad it's good' is a very difficult thing to pull of, but just within the first 30 seconds we were entranced with what can only be described as the absolute worst acting ever put to film. The absolute highlight personally spoilers! was when a schoolteacher became pregnant because of a creepy red-headed child. At that point it was just bad, but then you see the nurse in the hospital asks with genuine concern if she has been with any animals lately. Apparently this happens with such frequency that pregnancy tests have evolved to spot mystical reptile pregnancies. When her sister <more>
scolded her when she missed her appointment with the vet tears were rushing down my face.Every prediction we made was out-weirded by this movie. There is nothing like it.I don't want to spoil too much, but gather some friends and enjoy the best comedy from 2016.
Holidays is fun, twisted rapid fire storytelling with a morality play gone pear-shaped quality. It has plenty of surprises, as any short story anthology should. While I preferred some stories to others, I still lots something to enjoy in every one. There is some downright creepy imagery, and excellent use of suspense -- a couple of the stories actually stressed me out! Occasionally gory if you like that sort of thing. Overall this film is very entertaining and surprisingly coherent considering the assortment of writers/directors. Fans of Hitchcock, American Horror, Twilight Zone and/or Clerks <more>
With all the lackluster horror anthologies that have come out in the last few years, this highly entertaining movie is a nice and surprising blend of predictability "Valentine's Day" , odd surrealism "St. Patrick's Day" , purely disturbing "Easter" , humorously pleasing "Christmas" and "New Year's Eve" and ironically satisfying "Halloween" . I went in expecting very little from the film, but I came away from these holidays ready to experience them again. Seth Green is well chosen for his part as is ALL the actors in <more>
the film. This is a well done, well made film, well directed film, and inching its way into my own personal collection.
This is one of the best anthology films I've ever seen. There is something really special about it. Maybe the idea, maybe the story – I don't know. But you should give it a chance. It reminded me of ABC's of death which sucked balls , but it's way way better. I was really surprised that Thanksgiving wasn't included, but however it's pretty descent movie to watch. Of course not every "short horror film" about holiday in this film is good enough, but most of them are.Valentine's Day – it totally grabbed me. The atmosphere in this one is something very <more>
different and i don't know, amazing I would tell. The culmination was the point that I knew the movie will be good one or another kind of way – 10/10 St. Patrick's Day – Ehhh that wasn't so good at all. Too much bullshit and it was kind of boring – 3/10 Easter – Well this part is cool. Spoiler alert – Jesus Bunny surprisingly doesn't look funny, just creepy . Exactly how it must be. – 9/10 Mother's Day – I can say the same for this one. I couldn't really understand the story, but I understand one thing – it definitely do not liked it – 5/10 Father's Day – This part was mind-blowing awesome. Somebody really burned the midnight oil for it. I would like to see full-length movie about that story. They HAVE to do that – 10/10 Halloween – Kevin Smith? Why not. I like revenge horrors and this one wasn't scary at all, but it's nicely done – 9/10 Christmas – what we have here original idea? Of course. Modern technologies + horror film not cool for me , but it's not bad at all – 7/10 New Year's Eve – Spoiler alert! Psychopath vs psychopath – it look like my kind of thing – 9.5/10.
