Camp Rock was a very interesting film about a girl, Mitchie Demi Lovato , who gets to go to Camp Rock. And it's kinda about her coming out of her shell, and trying new things.I really enjoyed this movie, and the acting was pretty good. There we're some weak moments, but all movies have them! I think this is one of the best DC movies so far, and I would even say better then HSM 1 and 2.I liked the movie, and even the ending, but even though I would really like a sequel, i think it would ruin the movie/plot, as did HSM2 did for the first one.Still, this is a 10/10 and a two thumbs up <more>
Don't listen to those not so nice reviews..... (by PeaceLoveJonasBrothers)
I disagree with the people that wrote bad reviews before me.The movie was funny, and while I didn't LOVE every song, They are all good. ANd might I add that Disney Channel is supposed to be geared toward 7-17 year old kind of range. Are ANY of you in that age category? So maybe the songs that don't appeal to you, do appeal to an eight year old. Moving right along...The movie gave you the unexpected. I for one, thought Tess Meaghan Jette Martin was going to steal Mitchie Demi Lovato 's song. But that didn't happen. I also thought that Shane Joe Jonas and Mitchie were <more>
definitely going to kiss towards the end. ANd while there was at least two places I thought they were going to kiss, they did not. And we ALL thought Mitchie was going to win in the end.I would definitely recommend you watch the movie. Go see Camp Rock for yourself. DOn't judge the movie by what people say on here. Who can be a better judge of what you like than you? :D
I love Camp Rock so much. I could watch it 24/7.Mostly the ending when Shane and Mitchie are singing together.Joe is so cute, and has a great voice. I so hope they make a Camp Rock 2.Joe should have more lines in the movie. The first movie was mostly about Mitchie so the next movie can be more about Shane, the plot could be: "The next year back at Camp Rock, Shane and Mitchie are dating. Mitchie and Tess are good friends but a new girl comes in the movie who want to brake up the lovebirds,by making it look like Shane is cheating on Mitchie." At the beginning I wasn't into the <more>
Jonas Brothers but after Hannah Montana show that had them I started to like them a little more now I have 12 of their song on my MP3.
Awesome family and teen movie! Awesome soundtrack and acting! It ROCKED (by ChrisPat430)
So my friend is obsessed with the Jonas Brothers, I always tease her about it. She's a senior like me. I've watched Hannah Montana a good amount of times. But, boys my age don't really watch it. But whatever. I found myself watching CAMP ROCK last night, went into it unsure and ended up loving it! It had an awesome bratty villain Tess who is way worse than Sharpay from HSM. I don't know why people are dissing this movie. Everything about it is awesome and full of rock! It was great seeing Alyson Stoner back on Disney. I hope Joe and Demi start dating in real life. Smitchie <more>
lol. I cent wait for Camp Rock 2! Awesome summer movie and way to start the summer!
I'm a sixteen year old girl and am embarrassed to admit I'm a CR fanatic. I disagree with all the people that have compared Camp Rock to the High School Music First of all in Camp Rock the male lead is an actual singer not a dumb jock Don't get me wrong I love Zac Efron and Mitchie Demi Lovato's character is WAY more relate-able. It is a very good movie because it has a regular storyline - Mitchie wanting to be famous and meeting Shane Gray who is an egotistical "bad boy" but then in the regular scenes that find ways to incorporate song into the scenes. To point <more>
out to all the reviews that said "Where are Nick and Kevin?" "There important too." Nick and Kevin ARE in the movie... Example 1: On the way to the camp in their limo Example 2: During Beach Jam or whatever when they sing "Play My Music" Example 3: In the Final Jam scene as judges. If you didn't already see after the main cast they said With Nick Jonas and With Kevin Jonas. Kevin's character was funny "Will you make me a birdhouse?" I could NOT stop laughing at that part. Haha! My fave scenes are when Joe's coming out of the lake!!! !!!! and the duet between Joe and Demi. The only downside is no kiss between the leads. BOTTOM LINE: Best DCOM in the history of DCOMS LOL
i thought this movie was actually amazing, well doesn't matter what you people say, everyone is different and so are u. i love this film, i thought it was unique and no way like high school musical, so Disney keep up the good work. you will soon have a good business running ahead of you? love you!!!!! by the way i hope ther is another movie after this camp rock because its got me rocking like a star. and i hope there is another of the high school musicals because the are fabulous. camp rock had good actors and actresses and they all tried there best as you can tell from the movie, the <more>
girl looked so innocent, thats what i liked and how the movie was set. i could have rated it 10 but i didn't like the little rich girl, well called a bully. bye!!!
If you are reading this, you know you are going to watch Camp Rock. You know that you are getting a predictable plot line and average acting - - but this movie isn't up for an Oscar.Sure. This movie was made for Jonas Brothers lovers. If you don't like pop music, you won't like this movie.Perfect for kids ages 7-15, or those, like me, who like to remember what you would have loved when you were that age. You can't hold it to higher standards that Disney didn't set.For what it is, it is good. Decent songs, decent acting, decent looks. Everything 7-15 year olds look for in a <more>
Not As Bad As Most Think/Say (by pandapandapandalvr321)
I'd have to say, MANY of these commenters esp. those who dislike the movie are blowing things WAY out of proportion. I can tell they're trying to hypnotize you into thinking they're right. That's why so many people are randomly clicking the "Yes" button when answering the question on the bottom "Was this review helpful to you?"Here's what it's REALLY about, not what those ego-efficient peeps are telling you:It was a fairly excellent movie. The reason why I say fairly is because there are a FEW scenes that were unnecessary, cheesy, lovey-gooey, <more>
blah, blah, blah. But ALL movies NOT only Disney Channel movies have some of those scenes. AND at some parts, I was disappointed in the turnout. For example, I heard a few rumors that Shane was going to kiss Mitchie at the end of "We Rock," but, it turned out that was not in the movie aired on TV. It is also rumored that it's a deleted scene, for those who were hoping for it, like me! Yes, that was ALL of my negative comments! Now, I'm going to talk about why I gave this an 8/10. Like I said, it has some faults, and that's why I gave it two stars off of 10. But, the reason why it's so high, is: 1 The songs weren't cheesy or overwritten. They had a good beat, tune, lyrics, and, most importantly, some people could relate to them. Yes, I'm in that crowd! For instance, "This Is Me" by Demi Lovato. The part I can relate to the most right now, is "I've always been the kind of girl that hid my face. So afraid to tell the world what I've got to say." That's how I feel right now, because I think I have a considerably good voice, and I'm too modest to show it. Plus, I have stage fright. It also inspired me to sing in front of people. That's also another reason why the songs are a strong point: they inspire people. 2 It has a variety of genres. It has a balanced amount of drama, romance, and comedy. It had its high drama points, like when Tess uncovers Mitchie's secret and the effect of it. And, it also had its romantic points, like when Mitchie is on the boat with Shane, and when Shane is singing his new song to Mitchie. 3 It also had a good mix of familiar and unfamiliar celebrities. Of course, most of you know about the famed Jonas Brothers. And, only Joe had a huge part in the movie, but they were all in it. Plus, Peggy/Margret a.k.a. Renee Sandstrom from Life With Derek.....Or was it Naturally, Sadie? I'm not so sure. One of the two. They also introduced us to some amazing actresses: Demi Lovato and Meaghan Martin. Meaghan portrays the evil character EXTREMELY well. I'm a little iffy about when she becomes nice at the end, but she's still exceptional. And THEN, there's Demi Lovato! A MAGNIFICENT singer, and a happy and spunky girl! PERFECT for the part of Mitchie! I can see both of them in a TV show or movie in the near future. 4 The public's reaction to the movie DEFINITELY supports my ideas. I can't wait to see the articles on comcast.net saying: "'Camp Rock' Makes TV Viewing Breakthrough!" or "'Camp Rock' Estimated More Views Than 'Sex in the City' Premiere!" This movie was I'd have to say the most anticipated Disney movie of the year. Fans were expecting MAJOR entertainment, and Disney delivered a little TOO much! In a COMPLETELY AWESOME way!! If only Disney would've put it into theaters, they would've made a fortune on the movie! And that's not including the DVD and soundtrack sales! That's all I have to say. And I think I've said it well, if I do say so myself. You can send me the mother lode of messages if you want to, trying to fight your opinion as strongly as you can. If they have the words "hate" and "Camp Rock" in the subject line, you KNOW I'm going to delete it. Because, no matter how hard someone tries to convince me,I'm not going to crack under the pressure of Disney haters. This is the best argument I can come up with, and if this isn't enough for you negative nellies, then you've lost all hope. I hope I U-turned your opinion for Camp Rock! I'm SO glad IMDb gives the opportunity for us to voice it! Thank you! : : :P
Not outstanding but still a must watch for anybody who loves musicals and the Jonas Brothers. (by nelsonjimenez94)
Lets get the main point out of the way: this is a great, entertaining, relateable Disney channel musical which didn't live up to some viewers expectations. It wasn't outstanding but is still a must watch considering the rise of a new star. No, not the Jonas Brothers, but Demi Lovato.Basically, almost everyone who watched this watched it for the Jonas Brothers and to be truthful, Nick and Kevin's screen time is less than 10 minutes and Joe barely comes out until half an hour into the movie. The unexpected star of the movie who carries it throughout is Demi Lovato. Her character is <more>
relateable and she makes you want to keep watching the movie when the JoBros. are nowhere around. This isn't The Connect 3's the JoBros. band name in the movie story it's Mitchie's Demi Lovato . She acts acceptably in this movie but its her amazing voice that makes her incredible let's b realistic, she could outsing Miley Cyrus anytime if they were in American Idol . Aside from Demi, the other scene stealers are Tess' the Sharpay wannabe in this movie backup singers. MILD SPOILER!!! It's like we're forced to underestimate them but then later surprise u as you'll see, especially Renne Sandtrom who i hope gets more screen time in the sequel. The one you think will be a scene stealer is the most disappointing. Meaghan Martin overacts everything as Tess and doesn't deliver most of her lines right and even a 4-year old could tell that she was lip-syncing. Just because she might have a good voice doesn't mean she can slack off when she has to perform it. I don't know what the problem was if it was the sound people or what, but if all the others faked it well while dancing at the same time, then why cant she! Apart from that, everything was great or acceptable in this movie but i hope they get another director or make the sequel better cause even if it was good its not as phenomenal as High School Musical and I really want it to be cause this is a great idea for a musical and could make new stars that were really outstanding. All they have to do is step it up a notch! Acting: 7/10 Singing: 8/10 Music: 9/10 Dancing: 10/10 Overall: Watch it! Its still good and the music is AWESOME!
