Maybe this movie is just not for everyone but especially towards women I think every girl who has had a broken heart and wants to watch a fun movie that feels very true to life will really enjoy this movie. I did.

Hilarious and Relatable (by angell-leee)
This movie hooked me as soon as it started! If you're looking for a movie to help you nurse your broken heart and gather a little clarity this is it! A feel good movie that makes you realize...sometimes it's not just the ONE thing that ends the relationship.
Stop hatin (by kyiabavard21)
Why does everyone have to look into everything so much. Can't it just be a movie ? Why does it have to be about a certain actor or their race or the typical things or the drugs they do?? Like they were actually living?? Maybe?? Like how were the directors pushing the fact that it's a black white latina mix friend group?? They weren't pushing drugs. People happen to do drugs?? In New York?? Like if you just take it for what it is- a beautiful story of love and friendship and heartbreak, in a totally different way like cinematically, in my opinion,or at least that well- you'll <more>
actually enjoy it. Instead of nitpicking every tiny thing and ruining the movie before it's even really begun.
I am confused by all the negative ratings. I think anyone who has experienced true heart break can appreciate this movie. This film showcased a beautiful love, the ups and downs, the hardships and choices that happen when two people share their love together, and then ultimately, the end. No it isn't your typically happy ending film, but the love between these two was special, and the relationship between these three girls, well it's what we all want. People in our corner, who support us, and hold us up when we need it.
What's With These Reviews? (by leddyfzm)
I don't get what the deal with all these negative reviews is. First of all, it's a Rom Com and for a Rom com, it delivers. It's the best new Rom Com I've seen in a while.I watched this on Friday night with a few of my girlfriends and we all loved it! We laughed, danced the soundtrack is amazing! , and we cried. I'm within the age range of the characters and I found it very relatable, which made it that much better. This movie captured New York in all it's day-to-day glory, which is a bit rare. Movies are great at catching the fantasy of NYC but I find it's rare to <more>
see what living here is really like. I love how they capture the New Yorker without making New York it's own character hopefully that makes sense? .I do not agree with a few reviews that say that the representation of different races and ethnicities in the film are simply tokenism. No. I've waited too long to see more minority representation in this genre for someone to come and rain on that parade. This is what most friendships look like in this city- no question about it. It would've seemed weird if all the girls were one race or ethnicity in this very diverse city.I loved Gina in this role. She knocked it out of the park. First time I ever saw her was on Jane the Virgin, then in Miss Bala, and I love how well lived-in her characters feel in each role. I can't wait to see more of her.As for the love story, I loved it. I loved how messy it was. I love how it strayed away from a typical ending. It just worked so very well.Do I wish it had been a bit longer? Yes, but not for a different ending, just for a bit more of all of it. I think the drug use was a bit excessive especially the molly . I haven't seen this much weed in a movie since Friday or Pineapple Express or maybe I'm not watching the right movies, lol . I don't mind seeing them smoke, it was just way too much. These are the only reasons why I knocked off a star.
I loved the premise of this movie. Having such strong women support each other through some of the lows in life is truly what friendships especially women's friendships are about. I love Gina she's the reason I watched this film and Brittney Snow and when I saw Lakeith omgggggg done! Such an awesome cast. Yes it's a bit predictable, yes it's not full of a lot of surprises but aren't all romcoms somehow very similar. All of that is easily pushed aside and you can enjoy the story of this film. Plus the chemistry of the lead actors is so genuine you can tell they are friends <more>
outside the film. Last but not least the DIVERSITY!!! YESSS !!!!I loved it and encourage you to watch it.
Buckle up, Buttercup. This one is an emotional roller coaster. (by sarahelainetrotter)
I thoroughly enjoyed Someone Great from start to finish. This movie really captures the emotional turmoil of both break-ups and transitioning from 20's to 30's. The chemistry between the actors, both romantically linked and platonic, was excellent. I was emotionally invested in the cornerstone relationship and keenly felt the highs and lows in their romance revisited through flashbacks. I was actually very impressed with how seamless the flashbacks felt. It was true to life, as far as when you see or hear something that brings a memory to mind. I felt Jenny's crippling sadness at <more>
the end of an era: her 20's in NYC, her comfortable proximity to her oldest friends, and the recent end of her long-term relationship. Her present is so comfortable and the future so uncertain. Her friends drop everything to be with her. They felt fully realized as characters and not just plot devices to help Jenny's story along. Even small side characters were really fleshed out. I laughed, I cried, I experienced a large portion of the emotional spectrum. This movie is one of the best I've seen in the vein of romance, in a very long time. It was a love letter to anyone who has had to face major life changes and struggled to cope. I really enjoyed it and it will probably be a movie I revisit regularly.
I loved this movie. I loved the characters. The visuals and the story. It's nice to see a love story and a break-up story that you can actually identify with. It was so real and so raw it actually made me cry and hurt my heart, but I laughed a lot as well. It's very accurate to what relationships are now and the ending was amazing. I loved it!
