Ben Stiller Wow's us again. (by simonjohnwilson) |
I won tickets to see this yesterday which was the Essex Premier of the movie, I found it very funny and very entertaining. Ben Stiller gave a fantastic performance. I thought Ricky Gervais was boring and I don't think he acted well but that's my opinion. Robin Williams and Owen Wilson were fantastic as usual and all the other supporting cast was very very good Including the Camp evil guy, We have a new cute monkey and a squid not to mention all the other interesting things that come to life, it's very clever and well thought out. The plot was very well written and how the <more> |
Great Film! (by mg200963) |
We went and saw the Night at the Museum premier yesterday in Tampere, Finland. The action in the museum was non stop. It didn't drag and it was interesting. Amy Adams as Amelia Earhart looked great in her flight pants. The action was non-stop. One good aspect was that it t was completely clean, for example no fart jokes or weird adult humor that pretty much ruins it for kids and makes the parents feel uncomfortable when it is on the screen. It was age limit 11 which means 9 with a parent in Finland. This was probably because of violence when they are chasing each other through the museum <more> |
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is 'Wonderful' (by drshatterhand) |
Alright I will confess I was not a big fan of the first film. It was fun and I loved seeing Dick Van Dyke, Bill Cobbs and Mickey Rooney playing the bad guys, but the premise was predictable. Now with that said, I came to the theater with my kids expecting to witness a pale imitation of a sequel. WAS I EVER WRONG! This film is a rare example when the sequel is better than the original, and the fun is in the performances of some of the best comedians and talent in Hollywood today. Ben Stiller continues his deadpan straight man when he reunites with Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, and Steve Coogan. <more> |
Surprisingly enjoyable. Solid. Better than the first! (by bopdog) |
The first movie was OK. This is better. using any of the standard intellectual or even aesthetic criteria for judging "art," and films, this film should be a mere trifle, a piece of meaningless fluff. Well, it kind of is all that. But as I was leaving the theatre I realised that I had noticed the time, and was amused and engaged throughout. And I felt good. It was that simple.I can sort of explain the good vibes this film generated--- there are lots of great comedy character actors doing great work. The humour is mild, but not insultingly vapid. This movie doesn't have a mean <more> |
Vastly superior sequel (by neil-476) |
It was interesting to watch this movie just a few days after the original was shown on TV. It enabled comparisons to be made. The first movie was an excellent idea without a story or, rather, the story was so slight as to be negligible. Consequently all one was left with was the main concept, some effects, and a variation on Stiller's all-too-familiar hangdog loser my mistake, there was no variation . Yes, there were some moments, and the movie was acceptable enough in an undemanding way, but it was all rather glum and po-faced in the end.Well, you can throw all that away - the sequel is <more> |
Loved it! (by katiekarma) |
Just thoroughly enjoyed this delightful romp. So what if Amelia Earhart was really married? To George Putnam, the publisher ...Amy Adams is always good, no matter what she does. Doncha think that the real Ms. Earhart was adventurous? She played that up more than the romantic slant.Nevertheless...Hank Azaria stole this movie. He was a RIOT! Will definitely buy the DVD. Liked it just as much as the original. Hey, and I'm not much of a fan of Ben Stiller. The whole theme of this movie was to do what you LOVE, not what makes you money. Something I'm working on, finally... |
Exceeded my Expectations (by bjohnt) |
When I saw the trailer for this, I was pretty excited. I loved the whole premise of the first one, and having a sequel opened up whole new opportunities. I was excited when I saw all these famous characters from history being mashed together, Al Capone, Napoleon Bonaparte, Amelia Earhart, to name a few. I walked into the theater not expecting to much, but when I left I was very happy with it. They handled every characters personality beautifully, and the inside jokes were hilarious. I don't want to give much away, but trust me, you'll laugh. It tackles many themes like, a house <more> |
Much better than the firs one (by kicsi-ally) |
I just loved it!!! Don't pay attention to all those 3-4 stars this was a great movie. It is a great movies for those of you who wants to take their kids to a fun movie or even for those of you who want a magical night. All kinds of creatures came alive, and there are some hilarious jokes that you just fell of your sits laughing so hard. I loved the whole magical coming alive creatures and i loved that there was more action in the movie than in the first one, and also more special affects more of everything. The moral in the story is a little bit much for me but who cares if you enjoy <more> |
From a 50+ perspective: Thumbs Up (by bmcdannell) |
We were pleased to find the new Night at the Museum doubled billed with the new Star Trek at the drive-in, so we drove out yesterday evening to see two films we wanted to catch on the really big screen. To our dismay, when we arrived we found that Star Trek was paired with the new Terminator movie on one screen while Night at the Museum was paired with another movie we didn't care to watch on the other. No major problem. We simply pulled into the lot showing the Terminator movie, turned the car around and tuned in the FM channel for Night at the Museum, which was the first feature on <more> |
