I loved the first, atmospheric, original, creative no cheezy pointless predictable boy meets girl plot lines like seriously there's far too many, if not at least a sideplot , a Goat that taught me the importance of always being prepared, the animations stylised, and it took u through this unmistakable Rashomonesque adventure, to me the ending fell apart because it abandoned its slow reveal and went into hyperdrive but in the end I;d still give the original 9.5 purely because of its ingenuity. Now this movie, I felt cautious, one the trailer doesn't do it any justice, and 2 there's <more>
the Hansel and Gretel plot line making me fear the worst a love plot line with Red and 3 can Haden do a good job as minor spoilerAnne? All these issues are resolved for me, Haden's fine, there's no ridiculous plot line and most importantly the trailer pales in comparison. Now I'll admit the film had its problems, the pacing is bordering on ADD, it can't regurgitate Rashomon again, and there's a hell of a lot of ideas packed into this film it barely gives you time to process, but once u do process the writing the ideas the interpretives are all stylised well. The comedy's there, the thought is there, the characterisations there and the film has a far better resolution than the original film.Personally I want to see a third, they always have great villains, ideas, and the pacing needs to return to a slower style, and if the filmmakers are reading this bring back some intrigue, i know u guys are ingenious enough to do it in a different and stylised way, take it out of the third man or something and the Goat is still my hero!
When I saw the cover for the movie on Netflix I thought it was lame. But after I forced myself to watch it I saw a world of good come out of it. It was funny and the wolf was funny to. The animation was way better than the last. Also the characters were more interesting and had their own personalities. The parts that I didn't like in the movie was that the ending was a little dry, but it was still acceptable. Some people think its lame but honestly this is a show for only kids not adults. First, its based off fairy tales. Second, it was made for Kids! In conclusion, this movie was beyond <more>
the best and lots of funny references to the original fairy tales. I recommend this movie to kids from 5-13 yrs old.
Very good sequel, but not as good as the original. (by carbuff)
To begin with, I'm an adult male who tends to like movies that adult males like, and I have a confession to make. I absolutely, totally, completely, loved the first "Hoodwinked" cartoon movie, which I'm pretty certain was aimed at prepubescent children. This follow-up, while not nearly as clever as the original, is still entertaining enough to be worth the time. It does have some problems , however. It was no doubt produced to capitalize on the success of the first one, but, in this case, the pop culture references are overdone and the plot has been neglected. It definitely <more>
follows the pattern of the sequel being worse than the original, but not so much so, that it's not worth watching. It's also fun, because kids will get some of the references, adults will get others, and both together will get yet others. Overall, a fun, safe time for the entire family that everyone should be able to find something to like about.
