Greatest Movie Ever Made. (by reggiebottomtooth123)
Wow. no words can describe how powerful a film this is. Carmen Electra as a doctor? Pure genius. I was so convinced of her acting, I actually looked up her to see when she got her doctorate. Turns out, she isn't a real doctor, which I find hard to believe, because of how expertly she bandaged that guys leg that one time.I did not expect the black guy, the arrogant jock, and the skinny dippers to die. That came out of nowhere. Now onto the plot. I was taken by surprise when their boat was damaged. I started thinking: what if the two-headed shark showed up? sure enough, it did. I started <more>
worrying that they would all die, when suddenly they find an island to get to. I kept thinking the movie would be short, and that they would just stay on the island, but like a gift from god, the experienced screenwriters thought to have the island sink! wow. I was stunned. By now your probably thinking, how can this movie get any greater? Well, the main protagonist chi You may think a two headed shark wouldn't be very streamlined. well, you're wrong. Its plenty fast, and who knew twice the heads would mean twice the teeth? I sure didn't think of that, until one of the cast mentioned it in the movie. i was like "aw damn, shes right! this thing is twice as scary a jaws!"But luckily, this also makes it twice the movie! did not regret finding this on netflix. This is going on my shelf right next to Shawshank Redemption and Schindler's List.
This might be the greatest cinematic achievement of all time. This is one of the most unpredictable, beautiful, and breathtaking movies I have ever seen. First, the plot goes like any other average teen horror movie. You expect since they are on the water, a shark will show up. Well, if you would assume that, then you are only partially right. What you probably didn't expect is that the shark would have two heads, which is what really sets this movie apart from the rest. It is a completely original groundbreaking idea that will be setting the standards for film makers for years to come. <more>
Things start to go wrong, to the surprise of me and I'm sure everyone else who watched this film. The characters eventually get onto an island, which led me to believe that they were safe. This let me catch my breath for a slight second, only to have it taken away again by the twist that the island was sinking! After that detail was revealed, I was on the edge of my seat for the rest of the movie. The actors gave some of the best performances I have ever seen, especially Carmen Electra as the doctor. I didn't think she was a doctor, but I guess I was wrong. She pulled it off better than any actress in the history of film could. The idea of a two headed shark in this movie is absolutely genius. It is an idea never before seen in a movie. The idea scared the hell out of me! I couldn't wrap the idea of a two headed shark around my head, so I started putting things together. I thought, "Okay, two headed shark. This means twice the eyes so it can see twice as well. Twice the brains so twice as smart. Also, twice the smell and senses of a normal one headed shark. And...NO WAY!!! TWICE THE TEETH!" The idea of how deadly a two headed shark can be convinced me never to swim in a lake or ocean ever again. I would highly recommend this movie if you would like to see something completely original and innovative. This movie was a wild ride from start to finish that had me in absolute awe. This should go down as one of the all time classics that should be considered for numerous awards.
Look gang, it is what it is. All you haters out there just don't get it! It's not meant to be Shawhank or Gump for crying out loud! Come on, the title of the movie should tell you right away that this is bottom shelf material. As an avid fan of all types of movies, B-Movies are of no exception, and as far as B-Movies go, this one's a big TEN y'all. This one is destined to become a staple in my collection, along with my supply of cult-classic "Women in Prison" type B-Movies. Before I begin with my review, I would like to take this time to thank Netflix for adding this <more>
epicness to their growing repertoire of Oscar worthy flicks. I would not have seen this movie otherwise. I should add that there is a real possibility that this is Ms. Hogan's acting career highlight and that hopefully this will be the end of her "15 minutes".Tidbits that make this flick great are oversights like a shark that seems to change its size from large enough to bite a boat in half and swallow men whole to being able to sneak up on naked chicks making out in 3-4 feet of water. An apparent deserted island in the middle of the Pacific that comes pre-equipped with modern boardwalks, shacks, docks and break walls. The boat that they are on is slowly sinking and in one shot it is about 100 feet from shore and in the next shot it is a mile from shore, this continues throughout this great movie until the boat finally succumbs its fate. They are lost in the middle of the ocean, but you are constantly seeing other ships, channel buoys and the shoreline in the distance. Folks the list goes on, but I really would rather you watch it and find out for yourself. Honorable mention goes out to the lack of foresight in that this 2-headed beast would be extremely unhydrodynamic if thats even a word , yet this mutant swims at unreal speed and has the stealth capabilities of a cat stalking a mouse.Dialogue was as flat as one would expect. More holes in the story / plot than a piece of the proverbial Swiss cheese. A big thank you goes out to Carmen Electra for her gratuitous two minutes at a time bikini-clad sun tanning scenes which had absolutely no place in the progression of this masterpiece, well played Mr. Director, well played. My major beef with this otherwise meant-to-be garbage flick is the otherwise lack of females going about topless. There is only one measly scene in which the director does the viewer a solid by having a couple of topless so-so looking college aged-girls and some fugly dude make out, before being savagely eaten alive by the 2-headed shark hiding in 3 feet of water. In the future if a sequel is made, I would strongly suggest more upper body female nudity; unnecessary female nudity is a must in B-Movies and the subsequent lack of is unforgivable. One of the biggest disappointments was the fact that prudish Ms. Electra does not go fully topless once, what a rip-off! In closing, this movie has a bad script save for the odd great one-liners, gratuitous female nudity and Carmen Electra in a bikini bonus of two chicks making out was a pleasant surprise ,very bad CGI effects, terrible high school drama club level acting, plenty of goofs land in background in middle of ocean ,physics defying shark swimming and a great movie poster.I strongly suggest all B-Movie fans and all those that simply want some turn-off-the-brain down time to check this one out. In this critics humble opinion, its gonna be a classic.*Note to producer: Please for the love of all that is good, DO NOT cast Brooke Hogan in any movie again! Sincerely, EVERYONE!!
The best B shark attack movie I've ever seen! (by jamesd7004)
This movie has it all. The best B shark attack movie i've ever seen, and i've seen a lot of really bad shark movies. An epic performance by Carmen electra "Get out of the water, get out of the f*****g water". Brooke Hogan has a great acting career ahead of her. This has all the attributes needed for a really good bad movie. A good use of an hour and a half of your life, i recommend it highly. This movie is even better than "Super Shark" and "Sharktopus" and thats saying a lot. It blows away "Shark Attack", "Spring Break Shark Attack", <more>
"Jersey Shore Shark attack", "Shark Week", "Shark Swarm", "Swamp Shark", "Shark Zone", "Sand Sharks", "Malibu Shark Attack", "Dinoshark", "Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus", "Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus", "Sharks In Venice", "Sharknight", and "Bait" just to name a few. My life was in a better place after I watched this movie, I recommend it highly!
It appears Asylum is into the mega/super shark movie business, apparently having invested in a prop or graphic that still hasn't paid for itself. What is the size of this thing? Initially see front cover this thing attacks and swallows two skiers whole. Then the next thing you know a far smaller version has a hold of a guy's leg while he attempts to punch it in its nose. In one scene it has a hold of an underwater diver's leg then in the next frame the diver is swimming away with no visible damage to the leg. And how does something this big do shallow water attacks?Once we get <more>
past the typical Asylum bad production stuff, we have a decent "B-" grade shark movie. The sound track was fairly decent. I like the metal to give the film a grindhouse feel. A crew of hard body college students get stranded on what could be "Gilligan's Island" in the South Pacific, one that had former residents. They talk about shark feeding frenzies and cannibals. Girls in bikinis and guys with developed pecks. The island shows signs of fairly recent habitation and is manicured. There are boats that need repair at a dock. Once fixed they can be used for rescue or for boat races to litter the sea with shark food. To add to their woes, the tropical paradise is subject to tremors. The shark special effects ranged from laughable head on 2 headed shark swimming to pretty decent stock footage of a real shark . Ample cleavage shots of Kate Brooke Hogan throughout the entire film Hulk's daughter who also can't act .Island tremor special effects consisted of rumbling noises, camera shaking, and people falling down. The funny part was the scenes of people being eaten. The second head added the needed camp cheese for the film that was missing in "Super Shark".F-bomb, girls kissing/groping, nudity Anna Jackson, Amber English
