Shree 420 (1955) (DVDRip) Wearing torn Japanese shoes, English trousers, a red Russian cap, and a Hindustani heart, orphaned Ranbir Raj comes to Bombay to make his fortune. He
pawns his gold medal, gambles with the money, loses everything, & the balance is pick-pocketed. He ends up on the beach, meets with Vidya Shastri, a teacher who runs a private school, and both fall in love. Ranbir gets a job in a laundry. When he goes to deliver some clothes to Maya, she notices that he has a way with cards, gets him to accompany her to a casino of sorts, where he wins Rs.20000/-, which unfortunately is pocketed by Maya. Then a rich industrialist, Sonanand Dharmachand, approaches Ranbir, hires him to work for him, and soon Ranbir is on his way to a wealthy life. Vidya gets a first hand look at this wealthy life, and decides to break up with him. Sonachand teaches Ranbir that in order to make money one must never discriminate between the rich and poor. So they set out to offer homes to the homeless for Rs.100/-. Watch what happens when Ranbir finds out that Sonachand has been setting him up to be the fall guy.
Aaina (1977) (DVDRip) Ram Shashtri, an upper Caste Hindu Brahmin, lives in a small village in India, but has a very large family, consisting of his wife, Savitri, five dau
ghters and three sons. Ram performs prayers and last rite rituals for the Hindu community, and it is through these meager earnings that the entire household lives on. The eldest is a daughter by the name of Shalini, who silently falls in love with Ashok J. Rao, who is the son of the Village Mukhiya, Jagannath. As the Raos are of a much lower Caste than the Shastris, Ashok is told by his dad that he cannot marry Shalini. One day, after an argument with his dad, he leaves to join the army, and a few weeks later a telegram is received by Jagannath that Ashok is no more. As Ram is unable to get more assignments, Savitri attempts to poison the entire family, but Shalini stops her in time. She gets a job and is able to get the family to get back up on it's feet. Her brother, Gautam, wants to be a doctor, so she arranges for his studies, while her sister, Poorna, wants to be a singer, and a music teacher is arranged. Then Shalini leaves her village to travel to Poona to get her brother admission to Medical College, with considerable success, and from thence on there is no looking back for this family. Shalini gets a raise and an offer for a big pay-raise if she re-locates to the capital, Delhi, which she does. She sends plenty of money so her dad does not have to work, and her siblings can carry on with their respective studies. Then Shalini's sister, Girja, meets a young man, Raju, and both fall in love. Gautam, who is now a doctor, is in love with the Tehsildar's daughter, Usha, and wants to marry her. Shalini returns home to attend the two marriages. The marriages take place with great pomp and ceremony and everyone compliments Shalini, for without her efforts, the family would have been destitute. But after the weddings, her life will be changed forever, she will lose all respect from her family, she will be treated as an outcast and forced to leave the house. The question remains, why would Shalini be ill-treated by her very own family, and if so, what will become of her?
Pocket Maar (1955) (DVDRip) Roshan lives a poor lifestyle in Bombay along with his widowed mother. His mother thinks that her son is gainfully employed but Roshan has made crime
his career and picks pockets and gambles for a living. A gangster named Shankar wants to hire him, but Roshan refuses. Then one day Roshan steals 3000 Rupees from a man named Mohan, who was about to remit this amount to his Madhopur-based widowed mother and unmarried sister, Shukal, so that they can pay off the mortgage on their residence. When the money gets stolen, Mohan kills himself. A guilt-ridden Roshan travels to Madhopur, pays off their debt, and returns home without telling anyone about Mohan's demise. Madhopur Police subsequently find out that the money was stolen from Universal Bank and start an investigation. Roshan is faced with another challenge when Shukal and Manglu Mama come to the city to meet Mohan, and both Roshan and Shukal fall in love with each other. To complicate their romance, a cabaret dancer, Rita, pretends to fall in love with Roshan and moves in to live with him and his mother while the Police close in on Roshan - threatening to expose him as a thief in his mother's and everyone's eyes.
